Novembers dispatches report Romania declares war on Germany and Allied relief concerns as German leader and refugees move through Europe. In Holland crowds observe the former emperor’s train while American officials warn about fleet control delaying postwar internment and disarmament deadlines.
Walter Carter a 15 year old youth was jailed on a Colorado theft spree charge. Police say he stole two high priced touring cars a Cole 8 from J F Doski Colorado Springs and a Buick from C C Colling Denver then rode toward Cheyenne before a breakdown led to his arrest after attempting to cash a $50 watch from C H Pille in the Glendale hotel. All stolen property has been recovered and he likely faces return to Colorado reform school amid family in Denver.
A street car struck a delivery wagon from Mane wal bakery at the Nineteenth and Central corner, overturning it and injuring driver James Katron, who was hospitalized at St Johns. Witnesses blamed the motorman for not slowing or sounding the bell as the steel bodied wagon shielded the driver from worse harm. Damages totaled about $900 to the wagon.
A crowded police court session attended by a disorderly mix of people. The judge dealt with several intoxicated defendants while others faced lesser disturbances as the proceedings continued.
The Associated Press reports Washington November 12 that Germany must surrender all submarines within 14 days under amended armistice terms. Changes broaden scope of surrender and tighten enforcement, with provisions on evacuation, repatriation, and commissions.
Sam J. Dunn of Evanston Wyoming arrived at Camp Lewis and became the final drafted man to be submitted into military service. In a wartime to peacetime shift the War Industries Board announces a 50 percent output revival for industries previously curtailed to support the war. Restrictions end on farm and ranch building road work plant facilities and public utilities construction. Two industries, notably the passenger auto sector, see curtailment changes revised.
Zurich dispatches say a republic was proclaimed in Berlin on Saturday per Munich sources. Amsterdam reports the fortress of Posen is in worker and soldier hands as authorities struggle to control the unrest.
