Desperate fighting near Gatcina and Petrograd leaves Bolsheviks in control. Reports from Stockholm and Petrograd mention cadet losses and calls for a compromise as authorities seek order amid oscillating leadership and railway union threats.
Italian headquarters report heavy shelling along the Piave front with Austro German forces entrenched on the east bank and Italians on the west bank. The battle front runs Feltre to the sea with Feltre to the west as a major sector. Asiago action serves as a probe. Snow and severe cold grip the region while Turkish troops in Palestine organize defense near Hebron after British advances.
President Wilson issues a night proclamation requiring all U S bakeries to obtain federal licenses after December 10. The Food Administration will standardize bread making with Hoover predicting lower prices for pound loaves and elimination of fancy breads. Loaves will be sized at one, one and a half, two and four pounds with sugar content cut from six to three pounds per barrel.

Sioux Falls Nov 12 The Illinois Central railroad bridge two miles west of Steen Minnesota was destroyed by fire set by the engine crew of passenger train No 716 bound for Chicago. The train stopped within fifty feet of the blaze and railroad men say the fire was incendiary in origin.
Police report a potential I W W and pro German plot after seventeen sticks of dynamite and fuse were found at the American Express office in Cheyenne. The package shipped from Pendleton Oregon was linked to John Halk alias Charles Schuinard, jailed in Denver, with Vivian Halk involved.
President Wilson addressed the American Federation of Labor in Buffalo urging workers to back the war until victory over Germany. He criticized pacifists, affirmed unity with labor, and warned that capital and new cooperation tools would boost industrial effort for a successful war.
