Wounded Man Refuses Details After Cheyenne Stabbing
Tregoris Trejo was lodged in the county jail after a stabbing at Buford, thirty miles west of Cheyenne. A Mexican victim, too injured to name himself, remained hospitalized. The sheriff noted Trejo allegedly struck first with a keen knife as both men refused to explain how the fight began. The wounded man walked from train to ambulance, clutching a chest and abdomen wound.

Washington May 24. Army Intelligence and the Justice Department were forewarned that draft evader Grover Bergdoll planned an escape. Attorney General Palmer declared the department bears responsibility for circumstances which permitted Bergdoll to get away. Information that a riot with an escape in view was under way was first obtained by army authorities and given to the department.
