Walter Andrew Watson alias James R. Hurrt, the Los Angeles "Blue Beard," guided officers to the desert spot where he buried Nina Lee Delaney after killing her. A mob threatened lynching at the station, prompting sheriffs to move him to another city line. Coroner's jury verdict cites death by a blow from James Watson.
In San Francisco on May 4 delegates gathered for the Republican National Convention proceed to show support in the presidential race. At 9 15 p m Johnson led Hoover with 50 993 votes versus 34 917 for Hoover in early returns from the state convention scene.
Casper May 4. The Wyoming labor party convention defeated a proposal to require American citizenship for members. Resolutions urged unity with the Committee of 48 and the Non-Partisan League and protected immigration law changes to bar coolie and peon labor. Casper became state headquarters with officers elected including President John D. Salmond Casper and Vice President John Stevenson Hudson.
Returns from 1,001 of 3,387 precincts in Indiana show Wood with 24,671 votes and Perkins 20,538 while Lowden leads with 414,250 and Harding has 5,172 in the Republican presidential preference race in Indianapolis dated May 4.
Louisville May 4 Eight delegates were chosen late tonight by the Democratic state convention. The slate includes three women, each credited with a half vote, among the national convention delegates selected for the party.
Dallas May 4 unofficial returns from Texas Democratic conventions show a clear indorsement of President Wilson and his administration. Seven of 250 counties reported no opposition votes to the administration endorsement, indicating unified support for the national policy.
In Jackson Michigan on May 4 the Sec ja district Republicans convened to select delegates to the national convention. They were instructed to abide by the initial result where Hiram Johnson had a statewide plurality of 144,874. Major General Leonard Wood won the district by a wide margin and delegates were named who supported Wood as a compromise after a clash between Johnson and Wood factions.
Nancy Penns Field widow of Henry Marshall Field of Chicago wed Arthur Ronald Lambert Field in London on May 4. Field died in New York in 1917 after an operation. The ceremony linked Field to Lady Beatty through prior marriage, making the union a distant relation by marriage.
Lin I. Noble, editor of the Thermopolis Independent for eleven years, sells the weekly to Norman L. Maret who will issue this week's edition. Maret has been in the Thermopolis printing business for several years.

May 4 Denver report states Harry Edwards and Jack Richardson were arrested after city and federal officers found a still in a garage occupied by them. They face charges from an earlier Tian offense as Edwards trial was postponed due to illness. Officials also discovered 1,000 gallons of whiskey, fifty 50 gallon barrels of corn and bran mash, and a still capable of producing 60 to 300 gallons daily.

Agua Prieta Sonora May 4 The gunboat Blanco allied with the revolutionaries has returned to Guaymas and joined the movement. General Francisco Amanzo named chief of the revolutionary army in Sonora. Adolfo De La Huerta governor and provisional cabinet outlines plans to invite foreign capital and establish prohibition and gambling bans in revolutionary territory. General Calles named minister of war with Serrano as second in command.
El Paso report on May 4 states Ralph Greenlaw son of Eben F Greenlaw of Flagstaff Arizona was killed by Mexicans near El Oro 125 miles from Mexico City on Sunday and murdered again Monday at the same place according to advices tonight Formerly of Flagstaff Greenlaw had been a member of Arizona's eighteenth territorial legislature Friends say the Greenlaw family has been living in Mexico and he spent last summer there He went to Madera Chihuahua about 45 years ago to pursue lumber business
In Rawlins Wyoming on May 4 six year old Burton Hall rode on the running board of a coal truck driven by his father Frank Hall. The boy slipped fell under the wheels and was killed instantly as the truck passed over his head. The father, after stopping the vehicle, collapsed beside the child.
Vancouver, B. C., May 4. Union bakers in Victoria joined the walkout, joining those already striking in Vancouver, Seattle and Portland. Labor Temple officials predicted the entire Pacific coast would be affected before the strike ends, signaling a broadening labor action.
Elmer Bell and wife welcome a husky son at a Cheyenne private hospital last Saturday. Both mother and baby thrive. Elmer Bell, a veteran Cheyenne Fire Department driver on Number 4, plans to name the boy Elmer Jr or Dutch Jr and hopes he follows in the family fireman tradition. Dutch’s father Newell Bell trained most of Cheyenne’s fire horses.
Cosme Hino Josa former postmaster general of Mexico was jailed last week in Laredo for bringing 50000 in Mexican revenue stamps into the United States for the Sonora revolutionary government The grand jury did not indict and Hino Josa was released on a $1000 bond after a complaint by the Mexican consul was resolved.
Washington May 4 A Senate measure proposed by Republican Indiana Senator Watson would authorize federal enforcement of the woman suffrage constitutional amendment. It prescribes a fine of 500 dollars and up to one year in prison for interfering with women's voting in all elections including state territorial county city parish school districts or others.
The Republican state headquarters for Wyoming opened on the Fifth floor of the First National Bank building in a former W. B. Ross law office room. Percy G. Spencer, secretary to Senator Warren, will head the operations throughout the campaign. Spencer said a big opening will follow after the state convention to prepare for the forthcoming events.

A Cheyenne report notes many Hoover campaign buttons appear on local engineers. The wearer proclaims "I'm for Hoover" but no party affiliation is shown. A traveling civil engineer distributed buttons, with most going to engineers who playfully claim support.
Washington May 4 The Senate Commerce Committee opposed permanent government ownership and operation of American merchant vessels. As a substitute for the House measure it proposes disposing of wartime tonnage by the Shipping Board except as a last resort.
City commissioners discuss a proposal to bring a water powered sewer cleaning machine to Gueyenne for a demonstration with operators. If successful, the city may purchase the outfit for 1500. The device runs via a steel cable and fire-hose, scrubs and flushes sewer pipes as it is hauled through.
Elias Sandoval, 25, a Union Pacific roundhouse employee in Rawlins Wyoming, leaped from a locomotive cab with a test on his lips and landed on an adjacent track in front of a backing loco. He was instantly killed and his body mutilated.
Assistant Secretary of Labor Post pressed Chairman Campbell of the House Rules Committee, protesting the closing of its investigation into his conduct in alien deportation proceedings without giving him a hearing. He charged the Immigration Committee withheld important testimony favorable to him and said only impeachment can challenge his official judgment apart from criminal violations.
