Death by Own Action in Chicago Lodging House

J Henry Ball a 57 year old carpenter died by ingesting carbolic acid in a Chicago lodging house after leaving a note to a fellow carpenter confessing his act. He said aid from Moody church ministers inspired his final choice and thanked a donor who gave him 25 cents.

Couple Ties Knot In Presbyterian Parlor

In a simple ceremony last night Mrs Ethelyn Sherman married Julius A Reinhardt in the Presbyterian parlor with Rev Leon Hills officiating. Both reside in the city and the groom has worked for R S Vanlassell. The couple was assisted by Mrs Howell Snowden and Herbert Picket.

Presiding Justice Rebukes Prosecution in Heinze Trial

New York May 3 Judge Hough declared no connection between the defendant and the copper pool after two days of testimony. Max Schultze of Otto Heinze Co. testified the firm could not prove Augustus Heinze led United Copper Co. stock manipulation. Schultze said in 1905 F A Heinze owned 265,668 United Copper shares, over a third of the total, and Otto Heinze Co. was solvent on Jan 1, 1906.

Solicitor Accused of Passing Worthless Draft

M B Sirouss an advertising solicitor was arrested at Carey avenue and Sixteenth street on a complaint by Dr M C Nelson proprietor of the Metropolitan Turkish bole. Nelson says he was presented a draft on the Fire National Bank of Baird Texas for 107 dollars that the bank replied had no funds. Strauss claims he will make good the amount today.

Surgeon Roswell Park in New York Hospital with pneumonia

Dr Roswell Park the Buffalo surgeon who operated on President McKinley is hospitalized in New York with pneumonia. He arrived after leaving Buffalo to attend a medical meeting in Washington and fell ill en route.
