Court martial for Williams latest move in army row
Denver May 4 further developments in the army scandal involving Colonel Charles A Williams Twenty first Infantry and Major Lawrence J Hearne reach Denver headquarters via telegram. General W P Duvall recommended to the war department that Williams be court martialed as part of the inquiry begun at Fort Logan and extended to the Philippine islands. The recommendation accompanies a copy of The Denver Times April 14 1910 containing a letter from Colonel James Oxsenaarde of the Twenty fifth Infantry defending Williams. Denver friends view the action as proof Duvall seeks Williams removal while Williams supporters say the general aims to degrade him.
