In Honolulu March 10 attempts to raise the submerged U S touring F‑4 were suspended as the crew found the local equipment inadequate. Rear Admiral Moore and naval engineers convened to assess the sitution. dredger California reported lines catching on a hard mass, possibly a creptog, and the tug Navajo held lines on an object at the six location.
Boston March 80 The famous Hope Diamond and related jewels once owned by Mrs McLean of Washington have been insured for about eight million dollars. The Hope diamond valued at roughly two hundred eight thousand is discussed along with its historic owners and lineage.
President Wilson urged a formal etiquette to guide interactions between current and former presidents. He declined to reply to remarks by former President Taft and Colonel Roosevelt, joking that his successor might choose what to say after leaving office.
In Plainfield New Jersey a man identified as either Oli ver Osborne or James W Osborne allegedly accompanied Miss Rae Tanzer to the Ken sington hotel. The register bore the names Mr Osborne and Mrs Osborne but J W Osborne denies signing them or knowing Miss Tanzer. A preliminary hearing examined the mail fraud charge over the signature O Os borne with handwriting viewed as similar by some observers.

Reported activity included coal shipments to allied warships and the Cumberland’s arrival to join four other warships off the capes. Captain Thierichens reportedly expected the Eitel to intern. President Wilson cited word that the Eitel would stay inside the three mile limit due to its draft.
A government report shows European conflict boosts U S exports in 1914 across war materials, raw wool goods, and horses. Despite port closures and trade uncertainty, Spain Russia and Scandinavia buy staples while Italy and Belgium face restrictions. Horse and motor vehicle shipments rise sharply, with a noted jump in wagon and truck exports.
Mrs. Matilda Cohen aged 85 a member of a prominent Philadelphia family was shot and killed today by her grandson Keary B Cohen who then shot himself. He died later in the hospital. Police say the motive may have been mental instability.
