Mary Anna Jackson Dies in Charlotte Widow of Stonewall Jackson

Mrs Mary Anna Jackson widow of Gen Stonewall Jackson died at a Charlotte home this morning after weeks of illness. Born July 21 1849 near Bartow City the daughter of Rev Robert Hall Morrison founder of a college she attended Salic academy and college. She wrote memoirs after her husband died of wounds in 1863 and left two daughters and a son.

Bridge Materials Arrive for Platte River Crossing

A shipment of bridge material for the Burlington has been received and stored in Kearney yards. The project plans a rebuilt bridge across the Platte east of Kearney with stronger supports and heavier rails to support main line trains.

Floor collapses at Armory ball injures many

On March 24 many women were bruised and scratched and a rider was seriously injured when a pillar failed at Weedwen circle during a Weedwen convention at the Armory ball.
