London reports the fortress of Przemyśl, held by Austrians since early war days, fell to Russian veslegers after final reserves were expended. About 6,000 Austrians were captured and many killed or wounded as the garrison of 60,000 to 80,000 faced surrender. The besieging force is estimated at 126,000.
Brig. Gen. Hugh L. Scott reports peaceful entry into Mexican Hat with 27 lead pipe Indians in custody. He praises Marshal Nebeker and Indian Agents Creel and Jenkins for managing prior operations. Prisoners to be turned over to federal authorities in Salt Lake for possible trial. General Scott notes smooth dealings with the tribes and hopes for prompt surrender and resolution.
Millionaire Morgan Adams and bride Miss Aileen McCarthy aboard the gasoline yacht La Sota were rescued after a fire spread from the engine six miles off San Pedro. The party and crew escaped in lifeboats and tenders within an hour as the yacht burned to the water.

Rawlins Wyo March 22 The Seminole Mining company operating on a virgin field in northern Carbon county has authorized the purchase of a 20 stamp mill to treat a large body of low grade gold ore found on its property. The mill will be in operation by July.
Kingston report states Mrs William P Dutton formerly of Cheyenne Wyoming and her five year old daughter were found by neighbors after breaking down nailed doors of the Dutton home. A note addressed to the coroner indicated death by own action while insane and urged a verdict of suicide with sound mind and body.
An avalanche from melting snow swept the Brittania mine camp near Howe Sound killing unknown numbers of men. A launch with doctors and nurses was sent to the scene while mine officials offered no casualty figures and kept silent on the disaster.
In St Louis police inquiries the arrest of Loving Mitchell a Negro will likely reopen investigations into 30 murders since 1911. Each crime occurred at night with victims asleep in bed and killed by blows from an ax.
Postmaster General Burleson delivered a sharp speech attacking railroads for allegedly looting postal revenues and influencing Congress to defeat the postal appropriation bill. In Constantinople on March 20 Lieut Com Wiliam F Bricker and three sailors Ford Dowell and Leverings drowned while attempting to reach the vessel Scorpion in a rowboat. Lt Babbit and one sailor survived. The Scorpion, a converted yacht in naval service since 1898, anchored off Polbaghcheh palace in heavy seas.
In Big Piney Wyoming on March 22 William Gillie a trapper killed the country s largest wolf after trailing two adults to their den where he found the parents and fifteen pups for which he collects 85 dollars in bounty and 170 dollars from private rewards.
Borlin March 22 government officials expressed sadness over the inconvenience to Mrs Nona McAdoo Foot er sister of Secretary of the Treasury McAdoo. The Reichsbank stated $725 in gold was returned to Mrs Foster but denied police threats. Officials noted the Pay Act favored over legislative change to avoid upsetting allies while wartime penalties for gold purchases above par remained in force.
