Interior department regulations issued Monday set production royalties on government oil land leases under the claims relief section of the land leasing bill. Rates range from 3 4 to 12 1 2 per cent and nearly all withdrawn lands under claim are made subject to the assessment.

Army raid seizes army profits canned goods in New York

In New York on March 15 an armed squad led by Captain Peterson confiscated hundreds of dollars worth of canned tomatoes and peas bought from the army and offered for sale at a profit. The goods, sold by the army store for consumer use only, were seized because dealers profiteered.

Young Slayer Avoids Noose in Wyoming Killing

Rock Springs Wyoming March 15 From 20 years to life imprisonment will be the punishment of Ole Omyee the 16 year old youth who last summer shot and killed Deputy State Game Warden John Buxton. The boy pleaded guilty to second degree murder after Buxton discovered him hunting illegally and took a gun. As the warden walked away the youth shot him in the back with a second gun. Omyee has shown little comprehension of his crime.

City council enacted general annual license tax theater tax and dance hall tax ordinances to take effect March 25 with licenses due April 4. License amounts range from 25 to 900 dollars depending on business type including wholesale retail professions public utilities repair shops and transportation services.
