Convention Adjourns After 26 Ballots No Choice

Baltimore dispatch reports the Democratic convention adjourned on the twenty sixth ballot with no candidate chosen. William Jennings Bryan dominated the scene by denouncing Ryan Belmont and Clark, signaling a purge of regord and a push toward a single progressive Democratic party. The writer recalls Bryan’s 1890s revival of the party amid Wall Street pressure and panics. Bryan’s bold attack unsettles many, but is seen as potential campaign material of great value.
