Dooley's Thanksgiving Tragedy of a Vanished Wife

In a crowded city newsroom a columnist and Dixie Davenport hear the tale of Clarence Q Dooley and his wife Emma Dooby. Dooley recalls ten years of marriage filled with ambition, poverty, and a devoted wife who funded his education and poetry, until she leaves with another man. The office members watch Dooley’s descent from tragedy to burlesque as they cover his grief and attempt to help him cope, culminating in a Thanksgiving fundraiser for Dooley’s final attempt at catharsis.
