Indians Take First Game In Ragged Ames Match
The Indians defeated La Junta 11 to 6 at Pioneer Park before about 600 fans. Errors and wild pitching plagued both sides as Kelley drove in runs for La Junta and Whelan, Goult, Gibson, and McCarthy contributed for the Indians. Hendrix and Whitney each worked shaky relief as the Braves rallied with five runs in the second inning before the Indians sealed the win. The two teams schedule a rematch this afternoon with Rusty or Piekert expected to pitch.
