Cheyenne crowds flood the frontier show as hotels fill and trains run crowded. Visitors from across the United States flock to the event amid roping contests, Indian dances, and a strong turnout of riders led by noted champions and national figures.
Delegates from multiple states arrive in Cheyenne for the National Council of Women Voters convention. Wyoming leaders coordinate receptions, housing, and hospitality with Mrs Mary Bellamy of Laramie and Mrs R A Morton guiding efforts.
The national guard units will open the celebration with a one o'clock review across the arena. Governor John B. Kendrick, Mayor Robert N. La Fontaine, Adjutant General Andersen and others will attend a stand-side review forming the week’s formal inauguration. Kendrick had returned from Cowley to be present.
Sergt Bob Decker and Private Lecker of Company B were jailed on charges connected to a fracas on Seventeenth Street in front of the police headquarters. Decker allegedly intervened to hinder an arrest as Lt Russell ordered a Company B member under arrest, prompting the officer to fire. The incident follows other disciplinary moves as the guard undergoes a reduced strength and ongoing recruiting efforts.

An amendment creating a council of national defense for industry and resources passed 29 to 13. An attempt to fund dependents of National Guardsmen at the border failed.
Charles D. Campbell of Louisville, president of Campbell and Cummings tobacco, traveled 1600 miles to Cheyenne for Frontier Days. He met Roosevelt in South America and followed his advice to attend the show, saying he does not expect to regret the journey.

Eight candidates were initiated by the focal lodge of Elks Monday night. A smoker followed, described as highly enjoyable. New members include John J. Bell F. K. Ballanger John L. Manewal Cheyenne EH L. Parrington Pine Bluffs William L. Dolan Douglas Charles Williard Charles Williams and Co AR Smith Torrington.
Kennett Calif July 25 A fire in the Mammoth mine endangers the entire settlement after a copper miners strike was settled today. The population of the settlement is about 2000.
Dr Arthur Warren Waite awaiting execution for the murder of his father John B Peck of Grand Rapids was found with a cross shaped wound to the breast. He cut himself with glass but the wound is not serious and he declined to talk.
Federal investigators probing the waterworks tunnel disaster report twelve men remain trapped as gas and possible explosions hinder rescue efforts. A third rescue team reached deep into the tunnel but no survivors found yet. earlier attempts saved two, with four dying later. Investigation aims to determine wiring faults or gas release near the crib end of the five mile tunnel.
