Alfred Jensen a track walker for the Colorado and Southern railroad was severely injured yesterday evening when a speeder he rode on derailed or left the rail, his foot crushed and badly cut. He was taken to St Johns hospital after dispatchers were notified and work crew arrived to transport him.
Berlin date July 18. An unknown man opened fire at Field today and missed the mark. The assailant fled as the target was unhurt. A sudden mishap spared the field officer from injury.
July storms sweep over the Snake River Valley causing houses to wash away in six towns. In Moscow and Pullman the cloudburst and violent winds damage buildings and crops. Winona reports four houses demolished with telegraph and road services disrupted.
