A gas explosion at Mc Crorys ten cent store in Connellsville Pennsylvania killed four women and one man and injured twelve. The blast occurred when a workman removed a gas meter and failed to plug pipes, tearing out the storefront and triggering a broader blaze. Police said losses were around 100000.
Alma J. Evans testified that Mrs. Shenk instructed her to take a key to John Shenk’s safety deposit box before the family learned of his death and bring it to her. Evans quoted Mrs. Shenk saying she wanted a young society blood, claiming John was too old and a business man did not suit her.
