Man Rescued From Ice Cave Near Alton Ill

James Meyers a quarry worker was rescued today from a cave in a bluff near Alton Illinois where he had been trapped since Saturday by deer and ice. A train crew heard cries and alerted police. An improvised rescue team climbed the bluff to reach Meyers who lay on a rock floor with only a coat for warmth. He was in serious condition.
