He traveled with eight crew from the Norwegian ship San Jove. twenty five San Jove crew members remained unaccounted. Uboat accounts and Evans papers remained undisclosed. Washington reported all crew of the Norwegian ship San Jove accounted for except those missing from the August 17 sinking.
