Fron tier Park Rodeo Delivers World Record Flair and Follies

Johnny Judd failed to back up a near world record as a steer busting tied with fast routines at Fronter park. The event featured blazing bucking horses and a packed crowd with Ed Eddy's clowning keeping spectators laughing. Races drove crowd energy as Judd and others achieved tight finishes while a half mile cowponies and mounted quad rille showcased early in the program.

The bill lists a full day program starting at 1 pm with exhibitions in burro riding and trick roping, multiple cowpony and bucking contests, relay races, steer roping, a stage coach holdup, and a wild west parade. Evidence of wholesale smuggling of adult Chinese into the United States under guise of student status emerged at federal hearings. Witnesses admitted big fees for bringing Chinese to the country and some “students” vanished after being placed in schools. Coal Miners Strike To Spread From Ohio Westward

Indianapolis Aug 19 The executive board of the United Mine Workers of America says the coal miners strike in eastern Ohio will spread to western Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Operators in Ohio refused the new wage scale and the move aims to pressure Ohio firms to accept it.
