Young Stockman Hampton Slain in Wyoming Feud
In Sundance Wyoming August 15 John Russell president of Black Butte Lead and Marble and his son George Russell deputy sheriff are jailed on charges for shooting L H Hampton a popular young cattleman at a Chalmers ranch dance. Hampton died next morning after long vigil by his wife and four children. The shooting followed jealousy over a stockman post Hampton held for cattle in the forest.
