The Cheyenne city council debates paying KH McGarvey $22,000 or appealing after Judge Carpenter orders judgment. A special meeting aimed to draft a bond to stay the ruling before the stay expires next Monday. Some push for immediate settlement to stop further costs. others favor fighting on.
Wyoming tax board report accuses Colorado Fuel and Iron Co and C W Burdick of seeking to evade taxes with misstatements. It details alleged inflated 1910 valuation, withheld production data, and perjury claims, noting output and value figures for Sunrise and Chicago mines and Wyoming will be scrutinized for fair taxation.
T S Taliaferro president of Green River State Bank slept through the Cheyenne stop while en route to a Wyoming Bankers Association session. He woke at Buford and walked into Cheyenne in time for luncheon, after missing calls from the Pullman porter.

In Los Angeles Judge Hutton sustained the defense objection to a Cantrell impeachment question about Harriman and the Los Angeles Times dynamiters in Clarence Darrow's bribery case. The defense sought cross examination, Cantrell was excused, and the court limited the impeaching line of inquiry.
The Progressive party national committee elected four women to its ranks, securing added suffrage support. Miss Jane Addams of Chicago Miss Frances Ke of New York Mrs. Charles D of San Francisco and Miss Jean Gordon of New Orleans were named to the committee. George W. Perkins was named executive committee chairman to organize a multi division campaign structure with a treasurer and officers to be chosen. Roosevelt and Johnson departed for home as the party plans a nationwide campaign from its Chicago base.
Irving Jewell five year old son of Mr and Mrs Joseph Jewell of Buffalo falls from a wagon on the way home from Sheridan. The rear wheel passes over his neck causing instant death as his parents mourn.
The weather map indicates warming trends in Wyoming with fall-like warmth on Friday and Saturday. Showers are expected in the northwest region, while other areas will see dry conditions and rising temperatures.
Sheridan was chosen as the Wyoming Bankers Association convention site for next year by a near unanimous vote. Officers for the coming year were elected: Ira E. Jones president. C. Ry. Massey and H. Van Deusen as vice presidents. T. C. Rowley treasurer. Van Deusen secretary. Notable speakers included EB. Guerney of Fremont Neb and Principal Netherton of Colorado Agricultural College. Over fifty bankers attended, with strong out of state participation.
Wyoming law in 1911 allows any qualified elector in a precinct to vote in the primary without prior registration. Voters declare party affiliation at the polls and ballots are recorded, with names checked and transmitted to the county clerk for the next general election. (Continued on Page 5.)
