Herald reports Premier Lloyd George told Bolshevik representatives in a Tuesday meeting that Britain demands an immediate unconditional halt to the Russian advance into Poland before armistice. If not met, Britain would declare war.
In Indianapolis President Wilson commends John J. Lewis of the United Mine Workers for directing Illinois and Indiana miners back to work after a strike. Lewis reports 3,400 Kansan miners on strike and warns Howat to abide by union law while stressing submission to the joint board for disputes. Paris dispatches say Bolshevik forces score a major advance against Poland, potentially forcing Warsaw's fall as Polish lines collapse near the Bug river and front shortens toward the Vistula.
H A McCullen and Charles A Weaver resign from Utah party roles charging I W W control and radical aims. They fault Parley P Christensen for not opposing I W W votes and warn farm labor delegates plan to steer the new party toward radical ends.
Washington Aug 4 Captain W W Gilmer naval governor of Guam issued a five dollar whistle fine but has been relieved of command. Captain John C Wittengel appointed to the post and Secretary Daniels announced the order was rescinded and the whistle rule cancelled.

Five destroyers patrol the Miami harbor entrance under President Wilson to block a Western Union Telegraph cable landing from Bee in the West Indies. A British cable ship Cry onial was chartered to land the cable linking Barbadoas and South America. The State Department said the British embassy had to inform the ship’s master that the landing would violate American law. Work on the cable began last summer.
A metal monoplane air mail squadron leader arrived in Salt Lake City from Cheyenne in about four hours and twenty minutes. Pilot Bert Acosta flew the record leg. Air ace Eddie Rickenbacker was aboard. The lead plane planned to depart for Reno the next day.
Mr and Mrs Charles Teague formerly of Cheyenne have purchased the LaVista apartments at Long Beach California.
James Morgan of Cheyenne joins Frank Mondell of Newcastle and Wade Fowler of Douglas in a three cornered Wyoming congressional race. Morgan accepted Farmer Labor nomination after Casper convention. Morgan is a United Mine Workers official and state defense and education board member.
An official party including Warren Richardson W G Haas H P Taylor and C W Hirsig flew in an all metal postal plane from Cheyenne The flight was delayed by tuning and a leaky radiator and piloted by Lieutenant S C Haton Jr Mayor Taylor praised the pilot noting the machine’s smooth ride and explained its workings The landing damaged a tire but caused no serious trouble
Colorado authorities search for two escapees from the road camp in Poudre canyon near Fort Collins. A. B. Kincannon, sent from Boulder County for two to five years, vanished Saturday night at 9. Fred La Vassar, sentenced for two and a half to four years, left about the same time Sunday night.
Corporal Arthur Prince of the 389th Infantry arrives at the Finnish frontier after seventeen months in Soviet Russia. He was wounded and captured on the Archangel front March 1, 1929. Prince travels with 800 refugees and will stay two weeks at a quarantine camp before reporting to the American consulate for duty assignment.
Miss Mildred Mischler sustained serious facial and shoulder injuries while Miss Nina Nelson and Miss Josephine Eads suffered injuries when the car returning from a dance at the Hikhorn pavilion overturned on a bad road turn near Casper Wyoming. The male party escaped unharmed and the three women were taken to a local hospital.

Casper Wyoming August 4 Old Sol Solomon once a millionaire figures in oil history died penniless in Casper. At 80 he was buried in the potter s field with a simple service after a brief illness. He rose from pioneer in Warren Pa to a national figure and friend of Coal Oil Johnny.

Berlin wireless dispatch reports Russian forces reach 62 miles from Warsaw and about 40 miles east of Lemberg. Panic in Warsaw grows as wealthy residents flee the capital.
The Polish government agreed to meet Bolshevik representatives at Minsk at once after a full council of defense session. The decision was reached after an all day meeting with allied missions. The Polish delegation is expected to depart for Minsk Thursday.
French military advisers at Warsaw report the Bolsheviks seek to sever the Danzig Warsaw rail corridor rather than capture Warsaw itself. They claim the corridor would cut the sole direct line bringing munitions to the Polish army and boast of offering the corridor to Germany.
Alexander M. Howat, president of the Kansas Mine Workers, sent a telegram to John L. Lewis denying any strike call and accusing Lewis of cowardly insinuations. Howat pledged to stand for miners' rights and reject Lewis's attempt to end the Kansas strike.
