Anarchists Ordered to Kiss Flag in California Gathered Workers

Nearly one hundred industrial workers, many admitting anarchist sympathies, were forced to kneel and kiss the American flag near the Orange county line in San Diego as deputies watched. They had ridden in by freight from San Ana and were escorted back to the county line amid armed vigilance and a guard of deputies and citizens.

Tragedy on the Union Pacific at Laramie

J. R. Stewart a brakeman 25 killed when he fell from an eastbound freight in Laramie Wyoming as cars passed over him. He died after 14 hours of suffering at the Union Pacific hospital. Stewart had only two weeks with the railroad and his parents live in Little Rock Arkansas.

Three Killed In Shop Firefight At Missouri Pacific Shops

At Holsington Kansas on April 4 a watchman Chas Levin was killed and time keeper C W Layman mortally wounded in a revolver duel with Bud Smith a discharged worker who opened fire on shopmen at the Missouri Pacific railroad shops. Smith died before a lynching could be carried out.
