Whirlwind Campaign Begins to Ban Liquor

The Flying Squadron launched its 172nd day of nationwide prohibition campaigning with a First Methodist church meeting and a larger evening gathering. Daniel A. Poling and Rev. C. M. Sheldon spoke as doctors Ira Landrith and Carolyn Geisel joined new speakers including Hon. J. Frank Hanly and Hon. Oliver Wayne Stewart. The campaign continues today at the Methodist church and tomorrow at Capitol Avenue theatre with a program featuring prominent temperance figures, soloists, and pianists.

In Denver a surgery by Dr Hughes to remove five slivers of shattered skull pieces after a bullet pierced the boy’s skull near Saratoga is described as one of modern medicine’s remarkable operations. The orphaned patient was shot on Feb 14 1914 near his home. the bullet split the skull and brain, with doctors noting the miracle kept him alive. Judge F Greever Shot After Verdict at Lefors
