President Roosevelt was the chief guest at a Democratic Iroquois Club banquet in Illinois. Despite political differences, attendees cheered him loudly and praised his character. Speakers included J. Arkansas lawmaker C B Andrews representative from Nevada county and editor of the Prescott Picayune is jailed in Pulaski county on bribery charges. In Danbury New Hampshire a box of ashes from the Hraley home yields a dozen bone fragments and a half burned swallow nest fueling murder suspicions in the Elwin Braley disappearance. The largest bone likely a spine segment, suggesting a chimney fire. exhumation of another Braley child may follow. The mother claims Elwin vanished quickly and speculates a panther abducted him.
Victoria B C May 10 Charges forwarded to Ottawa by Capt Johnston of the Mount Royal alleging Capt Bonzer of the Hazelton rammed his vessel on the Sheena river and previously on the Ramona in the Fraser river. He is also accused of trying to induce a crewman to remove navigation aids to precipitate disaster to a rival vessel.
In a May 10 crash near Lake Bluff a Chicago and Milwaukee electric railway trolley collided with a carriage. J. J. Murdock, manager of the Masonic temple, was seriously injured and unconscious. Wools merchant J. W. Howard broke a leg, and Arthur J. George of San Francisco was injured internally.
New York May 10 The Colorado and Southern Railroad directors unanimously approve a refunding mortgage of 100 million dollars with 17 million offered for subscription. Stockholders to vote at a special meeting on June 15.
Chicago May 10. A labor committee met President Roosevelt to protest federal troops in Chicago during the strike. Roosevelt said he had no knowledge of the situation, supported Mayor Dunne in enforcing the law, and pledged justice under the law if action is needed. A later shooting occurred as violence persisted amid guard changes and a Wells Fargo wagon incident.
The American Stock Growers Association formed January 16 adopted a constitution and bylaws at the Denver convention. It will include cattle sheep and horse growers and dealers with representation by individual membership. Officers elected include Murdo Mackenzie as president A E DeKleukele as first vice president J H Hoardman as second vice president. An executive committee of thirty members may be appointed and ten thousand dollars has been subscribed to cover initial expenses. Fort Worth Tex S H Cowan spoke on legislation for the livestock industry criticizing railroad rates.

A destructive wind storm swept through Lawrence Kansas damaging buildings along the main street. The tempest was preceded by hail and rain and struck the city this evening.
