A letter from Nick Mandanis in Greece says he plans to return to his old Cheyenne home in about four months. He is wanted for swindling Chicago laborers of 2 each with promises of Cheyenne work and fled after creditors pressed for payment.
Northwestern is shipping forty to fifty cars of ties daily with about seventy men employed to unload the material. Only one trainload of ties is on the ground and passenger crews are swapping due to lack of a switch engine. On the 7th of this month the contract will be let and real railroad construction will start.
The Denver Republican backs Union Pacific building a branch to Grand Encampment Wyoming, linking North Park and the North Platte valley. A three month construction is claimed with potential large ore shipments and increased regional trade for Denver and nearby districts.
