Three damaged Russian cruisers limp into Manila harbor seeking refuge under tense conditions as allied ships monitor the scene. Their arrival follows damage reported in a clash, drawing wartime attention to the foreign vessels and the port authorities' response.
In Manila a Russian squadron led by Rear Admiral Enquist arrived aboard the Aurora with Oleg and Jem tchug. All vessels were damaged and many wounded aboard. Rear Admiral Train with US ships escorted them and discussed internment options as Washington weighs next steps.

Chicago June 3 Johann Hoch convicted of wife murder and bigamy was sentenced by Judge Kersten to be hanged on June 23. Hoch forgave the prosecution police jurors and witnesses and said he believed his wife was murdered but denied being her killer. A motion for a new trial and a stay of judgment were overruled.
New Haven Conn June 3 Princeton took the first game of the annual championship series against Yale by 18 to 2. The lopsided win marks a historic defeat for Yale in this matchup and sets the tone for the series.
The Foreman a maiden colt from George Hendris stable won the Latonia Derby at the Latonia race track in Cincinnati. Miss Alice Roosevelt attended as guest of Congressman Longworthy of Cincinnati, the day’s notable attraction besides the Derby.
Mac Stewart the American imprisoned in Chihuahua Mexico for years and once sentenced to death was released today. The case shows human suffering comparable to Captain Alfred Dreyfus. He will go to Texas where he is expected to be greeted as a hero. He is the first man condemned to death in the Southern republic who has not been executed.
An unnamed man was found naked in the river near Marshall Pass and taken to the D. and B. G. hospital in Salida. He was described as inhumanly agitated and performing contortions as the Crain crew rescued him.
A ship named the Clumsy Battleship was lost off the coast of Great Britain with twenty three crew members presumed dead. Rescue efforts continued as authorities investigated the incident and confirmed the vessel's disappearance.

Flowers number 80 000 costing 50 000 dollars while state banquets are planned ahead of the Tuesday wedding.
Paris June 3 Charles Malato a accused by police of planning to assassinate King Alfonso of Spain is described as a prominent figure from a noble Neapolitan lineage. His grandfather Count Malato led Naples army, his father supported the Paris Commune and was banished to New Caledonia, where Charles was born.
John K. Stevens former Rock Island vice president is appointed railway expert for the Philippine Railway Commission. He will control construction in the Islands and accompany Secretary Taft in July, returning in October. Subject to the commission he will oversee about 1000 miles of railroad to be built.
