Vander Zalm backs fibreboard plant for Williams Lake
Premier Bill Vander Zalm announced a new fibreboard plant for Williams Lake with a $55 million loan guarantee to Cariboo Fibreboard and an energy plant. The plan includes an environmental premium for projects aiding renewables and waste-to-energy, linking power purchases to environmental benefits and BC Hydro. Vancouver’s NW Energy attended the event, eyeing energy generated for BC Hydro. A second wood products plant was previously announced for 100 Mile House at $60 million.
