Wah raises lending rate to 14 percent

Wah increases its lending rate to banks by one full percentage point reaching a record 14 per cent. Major banks lift prime rates to as high as 15 per cent from 13.75 per cent. Analysts say the size of the jump surprised many and that high rates make buying stocks on credit uneconomical and less attractive versus other investments.
