The Chetwynd Gymkhana Club hosts an annual trophy dinner on November 6 at 7 pm in Legion Hall limited to members and their immediate families. Mrs Nelson and Mrs Sandhorne organize the pot-luck smorgasbord and will contact members. A dance for members' guests begins at 9:30. Trophies and ribbons will be on display at the BC Hydro office a week before the dinner. The next general meeting is November 8 at 7:30 pm at Hal Smith residence.
The Seventh Day Adventist Pathfinder Group plans Halloween night food collection to stock hampers for needy families at Christmas. Local organizer says donations will be stored until December.
The Hudson Hope Lions Club received its charter on June 17 1967 under Fort St John sponsorship. Officers included Rod Trew as president Wilmer Cox and Jack Gardner as vice Presidents Ernie Krebs secretary Gerald Overholt treasurer Ray St Arnault and Rod Fimrite as tail Twister. Directors were Edgar Scott Rod Richmond and Ken Haminishi. The club launched projects raising 7200 for an ambulance and a disaster fund, built a community hall, funded school patrols and curling events, and supported CNIB fundraising and local parks and signs.
