Assessment percentages approved for 1978 property taxes
The Cabinet approved assessment rates based on actual value for 1978. Residential properties including single and multi family dwellings and certain outdoor facilities will be taxed at 15 percent of value, while farm residences and related lands stay in the same 15 percent scheme. Commercial properties rise to 25 percent, industrial and timber lands to 30 percent, with utilities and fixed machinery included. A phased-in cap will ease increases over three years for residential and commercial classes if the rise exceeds 10 percent starting in 1978.
NFU Delegation Heads to Kenya for World Conference
