Prince George MP Frank Oberle says telephone calls to his Ottawa office may be monitored by the RCMP after plainclothes officers trailed him to a Toronto meeting with a Toronto informant. He notes the Oct. 8 meeting was set by a call and fears for the informant’s safety.

Voter Turnout High in Chetwynd Civic Election
The Chetwynd civic election saw 70.43 percent turnout with 424 votes cast. Willard Dunn was re elected with 182, Bob Walkden 159, Bunne Hoffman 130, Carl Schmok 105, Matt Offer 0, 7 ballots rejected and 1 spoiled. Twenty voters did single vote ballots, Dunn about 40 and Walkden about 60. Returning Officer Andy Teslyk and assistants observed.
