Violent assault shocks Pacific Great Eastern figure in Chetwynd

A well known section hand on the Pacific Great Eastern Railway was attacked after leaving the Chetwynd Hotel. Two men in a truck accosted him by name at a crossing while police investigate. Also noted is a March 29 to April 1 spate of hall break ins, calls for RCMP or vigilante action, and a vote selecting the name Chinook for a local entity. The Chetwynd Chamber of Commerce seeks police support and water system expansion plans, with officers Bud Campbell, Frank Oberle, and Gordon Moore. A final odd note: a shrew allegedly weighs less than a penny.
