District backs water metre program delays push completion
Chetwynd council heard Corix Utilities delay updates on the water metre installation project. Ron Bowman cited a July start, October finish target, and August midpoints for a commercial meter inspection, plus a meter manufacturing flaw requiring 82 meters to be reinstalled at no cost. Mayor Langstad said the program is 52 percent done and will test consumption before setting rates to promote conservation.
