Chetwynd Referendum on 7.2 Million Recreation Centre Upgrade Tomorrow
The Civic Properties Commission prepares a referendum on joining the recreation centre and leisure pool, adding a play area, water slide, expanded fitness space, racquetball court, climbing wall, expanded food services, two arena dressing rooms, larger dressing rooms and a fire sprinkler system. The $7.2 million project would be financed by tax levies over about 20 years with annual payments near $668,000. Electoral Area E and District of Chetwynd funding shares are 74 and 26 percent respectively.
