Northwest Rodeo and Powder King Ski plans outlined

At the Northwest Rodeo Association year end, Dale Bedell placed 2nd in the rodeo and was runner up Bareback Champion for 1984. A forthcoming Powder King Ski Village project near Chetwynd aims to attract 60 000 to 80 000 skiers, with 40 to 50 percent from the north. Local facilities discussions cover accommodation, transport, and ski packages through Powder King opening in late November with a full service complex for 2 000 skiers and a CSIA certified instructor on site. The meeting involved the EDC, Chamber of Commerce, and local tourism players to position Chetwynd as a transit hub en route to Powder King.
