Two More TH Yellow Fever Clinics Open in B C
The Ministry of Health will open two additional Yellow Fever vaccination clinics in Prince George and Vernon on a one year trial basis in early November. The Prince George clinic will serve northern B C and the Vernon clinic will spare Okanagan residents a trip to Vancouver.

New assessment lowers tax on seasonal tourist facilities
Finance Minister Evan Wolfe announced a new 1979 policy reducing assessments for hotels motels trailer parks RV parks campgrounds and resorts that operate seasonally to 115 percent of actual value from 25 percent. Off season residential use or closed facilities will be assessed at 15 percent. residential commercial and industrial rates stay at 15 29 and 30 percent respectively.

Fairview district farmer Henry Dechant has been nominated for one of 11 directorships on the advisory committee to the Canadian Wheat Committee. West Pine receives two tenders for new bridge project
The Ministry of Highways opened two tenders on October 11 for a West Pine bridge and a temporary structure on Highway 97 about 72 kilometres west of Chetwynd. Economic Development Minister Don Phillips announced the contracts. One substructure contract covers abutment extensions and temporary timber trestle approaches plus relocation of a 112-foot steel truss span. The second covers about 96 tons of structural steel for a 121-foot single span girder. The temporary bridge will prevent traffic delays during construction.
