A family trip at 10 Mile Lake near Quesnel features diverse wildlife from seven goslings with a vigilant father to a shore where red-winged blackbirds hawk threats. Visitors observe tree swallows, purple martins, rufous hummingbirds, western tanagers, chickadees, wrens, robins, woodpeckers, grebes, loons and diverse ducks.
The Chetwynd Cancer Society Unit reports strong donations from businesses, door to door campaigns, and daffodil sales totaling 7 682.73. Emergency aid expenses of 161.59 have been spent this year. Volunteers and canvassers receive heartfelt thanks for supporting the Canadian Cancer Society.
