TRAC urges MLAs to create a Security Deposit Trust Fund as Residential Tenancy Act nears 25th anniversary. The fund would pool deposits of BC’s 500 000 tenants, administered by an independent party to reduce arbitrations, save taxpayers money, and support affordable housing. The Chetwynd Electric Eels Swim Club held a May 6 banquet at Seniors Hall to honor swimmers. Coaches, parents, and the executive presented special awards including Sportsmanship Jamie Young and Most Dedicated Krista Milford among others. The Womens Centre thanked BC Hydro for a generous donation. Angella LaFortune thanked Helene Weightman for a $100 cheque.
