Green Party reacts to historic May seat win in Parliament
Green Party candidate Hilary Cowley hailed Elizabeth May's victory in Saanich Gulf Islands as historic and said May's seat will raise the party's profile. Cowley noted concerns over a Conservative majority and urged younger candidates to step forward in the Peace region after Cowley placed third in Prince George Peace River with 2301 votes. The party overall captured 3.9 percent of national votes, down from 6.8 percent in 2008.
