Districts and Saulteau band plan logging partnership
The District of Chetwynd, Saulteau First Nations, and the District of Hudson's Hope propose a forest project to protect tourist values along Highway 29. A 45 ha cut block would be divided into three 15 ha parcels using horses, a dozer, and a hybrid method to log 30 25 and 20 percent respectively. The plan aims to improve tree growth, create up to 40 jobs, and develop wildlife and water friendly logging.
