Lithoprobe and SNORCLE transect overview in Canada

Lithoprobe is Canada’s major earth sciences program studying 4000 million years of continental formation. It uses ten transects across Vancouver Island to Newfoundland and spans geophysical, geological, and geochemical methods to extend knowledge of the lithosphere. SNORCLE transect in northwestern Canada, including corridors in Yellowknife to Nahanni Butte and Fort Nelson to Watson Lake, aims to reveal crust and upper mantle structure and the history of block formation and collision.
