Propane tax lowered yet below feared but steady
Finance Minister Andrew Potter announced the propane motor fuel exemption will end, with a 2.2 cent per litre tax the lowest in Canada for at least three years. The industry welcomed the modest rate as Dawson Creek’s Joy Propane Ltd. noted prices are down and conversions retain PST relief. Propane prices have fallen from winter highs and are near normal, about 25.9 cents per litre.
