Fort St John hosted the Royal Canadian Leadership Seminar on March 2 and 3 attracting Legionnaires and Ladies' Auxiliary members from Cecil Lake Chetwynd Dawson Creek Fort Nelson Fort St John and Pouce Coupe. The event aimed to address the need for competent leadership now and in the future.

Rural areas to get mail service to Willow Flats

Residents west of Chetwynd will receive a rural route mail service up to Mile 16 with daily service except Sunday and a tri weekly run for the remaining 10 miles pending travel details. Postmaster Ed Martin announced a preliminary postal survey completed with plans to establish the route soon.

Einar Field Promoted To District Manager In Quesnel

Einar Field, long time Dawson Creek resident and MHydro manager locally for four years, will move to Quesnel on April 1 to assume District Manager duties. He previously led in Dawson Creek, Fort Nelson, and Prince George, and joins a larger operation supporting the regional industrial base. Field is active in the Chamber of Commerce, Industrial Commission of Dawson Creek, Peace River Liard Regional District Economic Development Committee, Associated Chambers of Commerce, and Kiwanis. He spoke of a rewarding Dawson Creek tenure and anticipates an exciting future with secondary industry, including Site One, in the Peace River area.

Dawson Creek Opens ICBC Claims Centre At 1107 103rd Ave

Dawson Creek debuts its ICBC Claims Centre in a new building at 1107 103rd Avenue. Managed by Dale McEwan, a former private insurance adjuster, with Don Wakeham as supervisor, a former Vancouver Island private adjustor. The office began operations on March 1 and is reportedly running smoothly.
