BC Hydro outlines spill risk and sinkhole grouting schedule
BC Hydro’s Dave Read says grouting two sinkholes will start this month while snowmelt raises spill risk. With the cap in place a 75 percent chance of a spill exists through summer. removing it drops spill probability to about 12 percent. If spills occur, they will be longer but gentler to protect downstream environments. Reservoir sits at 2159.1 ft as a climate-driven melt progresses.
