Judge Williams levied over $800 in fines in court Thursday. Arthur O Niel was charged with impaired driving and sentenced to a $300 fine or 90 days in jail. His license was suspended for 30 days. Graham Wells was charged with theft under $50 and fined $100 or 30 days.
In Vernon British Columbia Ernest Coutorielle faced driving without insurance and chose between a $250 fine or 90 days in jail. Two juveniles appeared charged with driving without a licence, insurance and licence plates and each received $25 fines on each count.

The Vic Collins rink won the Men's Open Bonspiel at Chetwynd Curling Club last weekend. Team members were Chester Lindstrom Ralph Todd and Lou Suverus. Runner ups included Jim Grant in A event, Hosker and Dick Burnham rinks, with John Avison winning B event and Lane Lossing topping C event.
Tony Belcourt president of the Native Council of Canada said written complaints alleging racial discrimination in Chetwynd Courts have not reached Dawson Creek District Judge Levis. He outlined four sample cases to be included in a letter written by Frank Gladue of Chetwynd.

Susan Hoffman chairs a committee with Susan McAdam Denise Girard and Isobel Oberle coordinating entertainment and fundraising. Twenty nine girls under Mrs Hoffman assist as candy stripers at Chetwynd District Hospital.
A dental extraction clinic will be held Friday at the Chetwynd District Hospital with appointments available at the desk.
