Museum Train Visit to Chetwynd in July 30
The Museum Train with a steam locomotive and ten cars will tour British Columbia towns in 1975, visiting Chetwynd from 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. The event, sponsored by Hudson Hope Historical Society and the Village, will showcase steam power and its impact with several exhibit cars. Chetwynd Tourist Booth Opens for Season
The Chetwynd Tourist Booth opened for the season with 85 visitors in its first eleven days. Mrs. Elizabeth Jones serves as counsellor until July 1st, after which Laura Kurjata and Helene Burns will take over for the summer months. Laura and Helene completed a four day counsellors course in Dawson Creek sponsored by the Dept. of Travel Industry. The booth operates under the Chamber of Commerce, with wages allocated by the Village to the students through a government program.

Graduation Banquet and Ceremonies Planned Friday

Chetwynd hockey and skating school dates extended
Deadline extended to July 20 for Chetwynd hockey and figure skating school. Hockey has 42 applications to date while the figure skating program has none for August. Two camping sessions planned at Moberly Lake Youth Centre July 15 to 25 for 40 boys and July 27 to August 6 for 40 girls. Open to all denominations and races with a $50 fee plus donations. Graduation Ceremonies Delayed to June 27 at High School
The final school day for all students is Thursday June 26 with grade 11 and 12 recommendations. The 1975 graduation ceremonies move to Friday June 27, with a 6:00 PM banquet for the grade 12 class and guests. Ceremonies start at 8:00 PM in the gym, followed by a 10:00 PM dance. community members welcome. School reopens September 3 for elementary students. grades 8-12 begin then May include registration and classes.
Broncs shine at Chetwynd rodeo crowd breaks records
Good weather and a record number of entries powered the Chetwynd Rodeo to a roaring success with over 6000 dollars in prize money. Top finishers included Blaine Charles grand prairie in bull riding, Wade Hubbley fort st john in bull riding and bareback, Jack Palmantier williams lake in saddle bronc, Bob Pasco ashcroft in bull dogging, with multiple runners up across events.
