Chetwynd cadets Glide for the First Time
Sixteen members of Chetwynd's Little Giant Air Cadet Squadron flew from Dawson Creek in a gliding session using a Schweitzer 2-22 trainer. Maj. Don Crocker and Lt. Dave Tuyttens brought tow planes from Prince George to facilitate the inaugural glider flights for cadets awaiting flight time and instruction by Capt. Gary Chappel. Cadets each earned about 12 minutes aloft under supervision, with favorable weather and a focus on familiarization with gliding and aircraft handling.
