A provincial commission on housing options has been established to consult with the public. The commission invites written comments and public input from British Columbians at upcoming meetings as it seeks affordable, accessible housing through practical innovative approaches within available resources.
Between June 6 at 4 00 pm and June 7 at 7 00 am unknown suspects kicked in a front door at a residence on the rodeo grounds and stole a .22 caliber Chip munk rifle a 410 gauge Remington shotgun ammunition and unknown value Contact Chetwynd RCMP at 788 9221. Also between June 5 11 00 pm and June 6 11 30 am a vehicle forced entry at the Satellite shop on Highway 29 North four and a half kilometres north across from the Chetwynd dump contact TIPS(8477).
Four men appeared or were due to appear at Chetwynd provincial court on June 4 before Judge D M Levis on sexual abuse related charges. One man failed to appear triggering a bench warrant. A second man pleaded not guilty to sexual assault and a trial was set for September 17, 1992. The other two men faced charges including sexual assault and sexual interference and invited touching of a person under fourteen. preliminary hearings were scheduled for August 6 and August 20, 1992.
Judge D M Levis presided. Derek Kinkead fined 300 for public mischief. 10 days if default. Stanley MacDonald jailed 14 days intermittent. 1 year driving prohibition. Timothy McLaren fined 500 and 150 for narcotic. 21 and 10 days defaults. 1 year driving ban. Alain Rohel fined 400 for driving while prohibited. George McDonald fined 750 for narcotic. 45 days default. Hank Calliou fined 250 for mischief. 150 for refusing to leave premises. Bench Warrant issued for Harold Ricard for failure to appear.
