CWL of Chetwynd met at Willow Flats hosted by Carol Haight to finalize preparations for the rodeo booth with parish volunteers urged to contact Vera Lekavy. Ann Teslyk chaired as six members and guests attended. a Parish Picnic is set for July 6 at St. Theresa’s Church, Mobery Lake, with an outdoor Mass and invited parishes from Hudson Hope Fort St. John and Dawson Creek.

Hudson Hope Provincial Court judge R McQueen presided with Vince David Kendall 18 of Hudson Hope BC pleading guilty to minor in possession and fined 25 dollars. Timothy Stiemer 18 also of Hudson Hope BC was fined 200 dollars and received a two year driver license suspension with employment exception for dangerous driving. Donald W Flora 55 of Hudson Hope BC was fined 200 dollars and given a thirty day license suspension for impaired driving. Continues on page 2.

Drainage outlet help available for ARDA program
Peace River Liard Regional District says ARDA aid will cover up to two thirds of drainage outlet costs for farms with beneficiaries paying at least one third. Most projects are small and under 20 to 30 thousand dollars, with larger schemes needing separate ARDA approval. Program runs to March 31 1977. Details available at the regional district office. Also notes strong interest in the 1975 Farm Vacation Program with 700 inquiries and 29 farm hosts, promoting urban families learning agriculture and rural life.

Hold tea on Royal Purple Day at Elks Hall
The Senior Citizens tea on Royal Purple Day drew 29 seniors from work to fellowship at the Elks Hall. The oldest ladies and gentlemen, Mrs. Nicholson and Albert McLaren, received grocery hampers. Mr. and Mrs. Westgate won a dinner for two for 43 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Door prize went to Mr. Demean, donated by Lady Traplin. Lady Marion Parker led piano, local dancers entertained, and a plate of goodies went to the hospital. Regular meeting of the Order of Royal Purple was noted.
